Riding Lessons and activities at Field House Equestrian Centre
Our aim is to provide safe, progressive and enjoyable instruction, whatever your standard of riding.
This allows us to aid in the general improvement of the leisure rider's technique, while still being able to help those riders wishing to compete or work towards a career with horses.
Private and shared lessons are also available at non-peak times.
All new clients are required to start with a half hour assessment lesson. This allows the staff to assess your standard and suitably allocate you a horse and lesson according to your age and ability.
Do you fancy a ride out in the beautiful Wear Valley?
We offer instructional hacks for our regular riders. What better way to enjoy our wonderful scenery than on horseback?
A half hour assessment is essential for any new rider, where you will be assessed to see that you are competent in all paces.
We encourage regular hackers to hold their BHS Riding and Road Safety certificate; courses are run regularly at Field House. We offer BHS Stage 1, Stage 2, Stage 3, and PTT training at our centre at Field House Equestrian Centre.
All lessons will be paid for in full if notice is not given within 24 hours.
Please try to inform us as soon as possible if you are not going to attend your lesson or activity. We would also appreciate it if you could let us know in advance of any holidays, etc.
Our extremely popular pony days are suitable for all levels of riders.
The pony days allow you to learn much more about the care of horses, and include at least two hours riding every day, along with many other fun activities such as:
